What is The Trials* saga?
The Trials of Antiquity and The Trials of Andoria are epic fantasy series that spans two different eras of the same world. In one, the ancient past, a time when two friends will clash and alter the course of Andoria's future. In the Current era (Andoria), this history was muddled, changed, and forgotten. Behind the curtains, a revenge-fueled master wizard seeks to remake the world to his own liking.
Unlike most fantasy, this world is written more causally. While it is driven by an epic story, each piece of the puzzle is written from the party's point of view, as if a reader might be among them. The elements of high fantasy are there, but not intended to be a spectacle or to take from the emotional experience of the characters.
So what can you expect?
Mixed Heroes
Heroes do not always have to be the idyllic version of their archetype. For some of this world's heroes, even the mundane and average will stand for the world. In fact, it is the most mundane and average that are in peril.
These elements define fantasy. But, in this world, they are even more than that. Magic has an origin, a reason for existing. Dragons, too, a part of the grand design. Only by revealing past and present can real history be known.
Fantasy encourages romance. With great backdrops like splendid meadows and cozy castle keeps, its hard not to find scenes where love will blossom. So, too, can it on the battlefield, as some of our heroes find their other halves along the journey.
